Jim was an interesting man. He was incredibly intelligent. He was a great conversationalist.  He told me both of his parents were doctors. When not doing gigs he worked as a bartender. His final years were rather tragic. Penneyless due to a number of factors, he had to live with relatives then later had to depend on relatives to pay for his care at an assisted living facility. He never complained to me even though he was nearing death from C.O.P.D. He was a very brave soul.
