This week Riverwalk Jazz focuses on jazz trombone as played by current
exponents of the pre-WWII style exemplified by Ory, Higgenbotham,
Teagarden, Dickinson, Lincoln and others. Soloists include:

Kenny Rupp
Mike Pittsely
Bill Allred
Dan Barrett
Russ Phillips
Bob Havens

The above list can supply enough trombone wattage to light up the
entire city of Seguin, TX for 3 days (including all the trombone lamps
there).

If you (DJMLers) don't recognize any of these names, you need to get out more.

Especially listen for Havens playing Miff Mole's "Slippin' Around" and
Pittsley playing Dorsey's "Trombonology." The others ain't bad either.

If you are an old-school trombonist and miss this show, please make
your way to an emergency room to have your head examined. CDs of the
show are not available. You can stream it on-demand beginning today.
