 Dear Bill, Marek, and DJML,

I'm proud of the fact that I got to play with ne less than four of the men featured in the Goodyear video: Wild Bill Davison; Peanuts Hucko; Johnny Varro; and drummer Buzzy Drootin. I'm pleased to report that Johnny Varro is still going strong, and playing beautifully. His more recent recordings are available on the Arbors label. (I will be the trombonist in Johnny's "Swing Seven," which will tour Germany in March, 2012. The tour is being organized by a terrific, swinging young German drummer named Bernard Flager. I hope to see many of the DJML's German subscribers during the tour!)

23 Skidoo,
--Dan Barrett
