[Dixielandjazz] Oh Yeah Day

As many know, August 4 is Louis Armstrong's 110th birthday. DJML  
Listmate Tamas Ittzes has been organizing a worldwide "Oh Yeah Day" to  
honor Classic Jazz on that date. Those of us who have concerts on that  
date are urged to contact Tamas and let him know, so those concerts  
can be a part of the Worldwide celebration. He is looking for 100,000  
supporters.

Hopefully, many other US bands are gigging on August 4. Barbone Street  
is celebrating the 110th birthday with a concert as follows:

Dravo Plaza (open air concert)
Wilmington Delaware Riverfront (near the ball park and the Shipyard  
Shops)
August 4, 2011 - 7 to 8:30 PM

We expect an audience of about 500 which we will make a part of Oh  
Yeah Day. We'll be playing lots of songs Louis made famous. Since  
August 4 is also my 49th wedding anniversary, we'll also play a song  
or two commemorating that event. <grin>.

I've posted our part in Oh Yeah Day on my facebook page and Tamas will  
add it to the global list of Oh Yeah Day concerts on the web site.

If you are gigging on August 4, I hope you will contact Tamas and also  
post your gig as part of the Day's events.
