Hi All,

Perhaps I've been in a cave, but I just found Anachronic Jazz Band
videos on YouTube that have been there for two years. If this is the
first time you see these, I'm sorry it took so long. If you've seen
these before, shame on you for not sharing.

Once over lightly for new comers, the AJB is a group of top trad and
swing musicians that formed a group playing bop era tunes as if it were
the 20s/30s. They only existed a couple of years. Too bad.

What I present here are videos of the Anachronic Jazz Band at La Grande
Parade du Jazz in Nice, France on July 16, 1977. For those of you that
have jazzed in Europe, you will know a bunch of these guys. BUT IN 1977.

Patrick Artero on trumpet. Patrick is still a much in demand player.

Daniel Barda on trombone. Many of you know him in the States with
Watergate 7 and Paris Washboard.

Daniel Huck on alto sax. Daniel is the monster. I get to play with him
a couple of times a year. What a treat. We had a great quartet (1 gig)
sometime back with Daniel, Eddie Erickson, Sue Kroninger and yours
truly. And, when Allan Vaché came over to play with Sac à Pulses,
Daniel asked him to sit in on a set. WOW.

Marc Richard on clarinet. The leader of this group and many great
groups over the years. His latest group is a Lunceford style big band
called the Paris Swing Orchestra. Sac à Pulses' Pierre Guicquéro plays
trombone in PSO.

André Villéger on reeds. Also still active. But, I understand he only
plays big gigs.

Philippe Baudoin on piano. Philippe wrote those great French chord
books with all the boxes. Really great books.

Patrick Diaz on banjo. I see Patrick less these days, but he still gets
around.

Gérard Gervois on tuba. Gérard is great and playing as always. Bob
Rann first introduced me to Gérard back in the early 90s.

Bernard Laye on drums. To be honest, I don't know much about him.

Göran Eriksson on recorder. Yes, recorder. He plays one tune, Yardbird
Suite, and he plays it quite well. Many have discussed his solo on the
vinyls.

The times are indicated at the beginning of most clips, so I tried to
construct the concert in order. There is no time indicated for Round
Midnight, so I put it first so you can watch my man Daniel Huck sing and
scat in 1977.
