Some of the most exciting British jazz to my ears was produced by the
ORIGINAL Crane River Band from 1950 to early 1951.This was a band that did
not receive widespread recognition. Their appearance at the Royal Festival
Hall in a one off appearance in July  1951 when they recorded "I'm
Travelling"was the end of their life. The next recording under the name of
the Cranes was in April 1952 but was a shadow of the original Cranes, I have
not been aroused by the later recordings after the rebirth.
