Hi Marek,
As long as you do not include Ken Colyer as being a player of "Trad"when
referring to British jazz.The bands that were most popular with the unwashed
played "Trad"
I know that this will result in strong feelings both for and against my
thesis, I hope my friends will bail me out.

To my ears - he did. And it has often been referred to as "San
Francisco Style," or even "West Coast" (more confusing, as a "modern"
style has been called that, too).
Nevertheless, his pioneering efforts seem to have sired the revival of
interest in traditional jazz, under any name we attach to it - trad,
New Orleans, Dixieland (btw, to me, before I joined this list, trad
meant the British trad).
