I experienced a similar situation while recording at the Columbia studios in
Madrid in the 1970's. (Is there something strange about Columbia Studios
worldwide?) A building next to the studios (& actually sharing walls!) was
being torn down during a session with a Spanish artist. The worker's rhythm
didn't jive with the Spanish beat of the song being recorded.

We managed to finish the recording when the workers took a coffee break!
