[Dixielandjazz] Western Swing OKOM?

Responding from the "Don't Know Schidt" Department.

My rare listening to western swing has always made me wonder why I don't hear more "swing" instruments, ie, the miscellany of horns, either brass or woodwind.  In a few Bob Wills pics I see a sax sitting on the floor.  But in the many times I've listened to Bob, all I hear is those damned (sic) guitars.

I'm admitting I may (most likely) be un-sufficiently proficient in the Listening Dept, but so far I haven't heard anything like "swing" from "western swing" than the mere rhythm.  If you're gonna claim "swing", shouldn't there be some distinct "crossover", instrument-wise?
