Thanks Bill for the swift response - the Blue Ribbon Syncopators banjoist is
indeed Gil Roberts as rediscovered by The Black Eagles.
I have the four Blue Ribbon Syncopators Columbia recordings on a VJM lp - I
dig it out and listen to Stratch as you suggested.
