Hello John,

How did you happen to mention Dave?  Were you looking at the DJML archives?  

I knew Dave in the late 60s or maybe early 70s.  He was a good player.  He used to work with Turk Murphy around the time that Ernie Carson was a member of the Murphy band.  

Dave is the one who first took me to Lu Waters house.  We spent a wonderful afternoon listening to the YBJB albums and drinking wine.  Lu even pulled out an old trumpet and was playing along with his recordings.
