As I said, Dottie was a very nice lady.  I knew her since the early 70s when I hired Barney to be a guest star at the monthly Jazz Sunday concert of the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society.  

Later, when I moved to Los Angeles, she became a regular at our (The Great Pacific Jazz Band) Sunday gigs.  

I remember one Sunday when we had a table of 5-widows.  

The widows of Barney Biggard, Joe Venuti, Ziggie Elman, Heini Beau and one other widow, can't remember who it was, were all sitting at one table.
