So much talk about "the audience is dying"!  Who is the audience?
Dixieland, or call it what you want, is a happy music, so "the audience" is
everybody!  

Yep, we're all dying, that's true enough, but while we are here, most people
enjoy happy music without being some kind of "special" person.

Seems to me that what may be dying is the will to make the music alive &
happy, and the places to do that in/at.

To the musician our music may be an art, but for the general audience it is
entertainment. I could care less, as long as the audience is there with a
nice blend of attention and enjoyment!
