Jazz related...in a way!

I'm looking for some external speakers to add on to the PC. What I have now are wimpy speakers through the monitor.

Today, I tried out Logitech Z313- 2.1 ($49)  The bass just doesn't do it.  Now, I'm willing to spend a few bucks, nothing over about $300. 

I'd like something with heavy bass and simple to connect.  I'd love a sound that requires a seatbelt. Do any of you have any suggestions?
