Ah, a wonderful post , Jack- and a reminder of my friend Cossie with
whom I spent many happy hours when he was over here with Bob Barnard. I
have a photo someone snapped of mysitting at the piano and Cossie
sitting next to me with a bandana on his head and in full falsetto
voice, pretending to be the gal singer. Neither of us had avoided the
bar prior to this moment of splendid tomfoolery. Over a couple weeks -
in Michigan and also in Davenport when Barnard band and the Son of Bix
(that I was with) played at the Bic Fest. (Ithnk that was '76), and
between Cossie's great humor and Chris Tapperal's superb piano, good
moments are forever etvhed in this Yank's gray cells.
With both Cossi and Chris gone now, and Wally Wickham and Len Barnard as
well, I amthanksfulforthe times spent with them. Good players all - good
friends always.
