I just recently heard of a situation, possibly at a recent festival, I'm really not sure, where a certain somewhat wacky tuba player (great guy, phenomenal player, just somewhat goofy) set fireworks off from inside his tuba, which then caused all manners of smoke alarms, fire alarms, and general consternation to be set off.
Can anyone verify this?

PS..And, yes, I've seen the fired-up Sousaphone player guy. http://www.skellington.com/madsci/simpsons/david.html Definitely not the same guy. I've often thought it would be great to do something like this during the 1812...a friend had a tuning mechanism added to his orchestra horn. It had a cross bar up near the top bow, which let him pull up to push the slide out. If the top piece had been opened to the vertical tube, it would've been perfect.
