To anyone able to listen to BBC Radio 2, I noticed that there is a programme on at 10pm tonight called "Jazz Junctions".
The blurb reads:
"Jazz Junctions looks at those pivotal moments that have changed the direction of jazz over the past 100 years, and in the first episode the British trumpeter Guy Barker tells the story of how the first ever jazz record, 1917's Livery Stable Blues by the Dixieland Jass Band, took the music beyond the streets and nightclubs of New Orleans and into the world at large."
All the best,
Allan Brown
(PS. It's not jazz, but my virtual band - the Crooked Souls - have finally got it together to create a myspace page with a few tunes we've recorded recently available to listen to.)
