Hello Everyone -- I want to let you all know that the new collection from Off The Record (The label that brought out "King Oliver, Off The Record") is now available.
It is entitled "Cabaret Echoes: New Orleans Jazzers at Work, 1918-1927" and features rare early recordings by Crescent City musicians such as Kid Ory, Willie Hightower, Johnny De Droit, Half-way House Orchestra and others. It also includes audio excerpts from interviews with many of the musicians. Also -- there is a 60 page, profusely illustrated booklet.
You may read about it at the Archeophone website -- www.archeophone.com.
Best
David Sager
