 >>They could call themselves "The Yoda Lady Whos."<<

Oh Al... You should be ashamed... :-[

I don't know why that reminds me of this, but...

I was talking with a bunch of friends at an Acoustic Guitar Forum jam we
had in West Palm Beach... about 3 months ago. One of the guys said he
can't remember lyrics at all anymore and I agreed that I don't rehearse
as such, just occasionally pick up a guitar and play, reading lyrics out
of a 3 ring binder of songs. We agreed that if we got up and tried to
sing a song without lyrics, we would never get through it, following
which one of the other guys jumped in and suggested we form a band and
call it, "Senior Moment"...

It was funny at the time... but too damned true though...

When I lived in Jamaica, I used to keep about 20 legal pages in my
guitar case. Each line on the page was a song title, so that was about
500 songs and I could do nearly all of them. (I didn't say I did them
well, but I could do them) I knew 99% of the lyrics with no prompting,
but I didn't play for about the first 5 years after we moved up here and
one day when I opened my guitar case, I didn't even recognize the titles
of some songs. A bunch more, I couldn't remember the first few lines
from which I might have prompted myself to get through a song. Not that
I've worked on it any, but I've never remembered much of anything and
finally threw away those sheets a few years ago. I can still recall
lyrics to some stuff I did ini college during the late 60's and early
70's, but I can't remember lyrics to some of the songs I wrote. Senior
moments indeed...

Dennis
