I haven't heard from Eddy Davis again as he is still on tour with the "Woody Allen Dixieland Band" in Europe. But an interesting thing happened in recent days, regarding "Punch's Archives" (Punch Thomas's homemade CD saga). I'm told by Gunnar Jacobsen that he was recently apprised by an enthused collector of finding a great recording by a group called "The Hot Jazz Orchestra." Gunnar told the fellow, "Yes, that would be John Thomas's group. (Eddy Davis was the banjo player with that group.) Gunnar went on to tell the fellow that his jazz web site (www.puppyjazz.com) currently lists 23 of John's CDs on the Punch label.
