Folks who catalog their recordings in exhaustive detail may have trouble
dealing with items that nave variant spellings.
In the old days, library card catalogs had "Authority" cards that provided
a definitive name, and listed the alternative spellings. A "See reference"
card was made to the definitive name from each variant.
There's various ways of doing this with computers. I don't do it
consistently myself, but sometimes I add variants in [brackets]to records
so I can do a *wild card* search of my databases individually--I never got
around to setting up SQL, which would allow me to search all my databases
at one time.
Perhaps that'll help. Note that I provide some legitimate tune title
variants in the indexes of my fake books. "Butt love" for "I can't give
you anything but love" ain't legit [%^)
