Hi Ginny,

This is also my (and my mother's) favorite of Sidney's songs and nobody,
but nobody, does it better than Noel Kaletsky (IMHO). Interestingly, on
one of Noel's albums he entitles it "I Remember When", and that is what
it's called on The Sidney Bechet Story CD. I don't know which was the
original nor why or when it changed. But a rose by any other name still
smells as sweet (or so the saying goes).

I belong on the list of those who think this may be the most beautiful

Anyhow I've always wondered about the title. Does anyone know anything
or 
where to look for anything on why Bechet titled this tune, "If You See
My 
Mother" ?
