Thanks for the name and the link Don. The musical compositions are different although similar in character and there is a clear similarity in lyric content. There appears to be a bit of dispute about who wrote the first version and therefore who translated/adapted it for his native market. The YouTube comments in German are split between Kreisler and Lehrer as the originator, so I guess the best bet would be to check the copyright dates on the sheet music, but finding both songs will be a heck of a long shot.
