Hello folks,
The trombonist with Bob Oliver was Christine Woodcock. In 2000, Ms.
Woodcock led the Stackyard Stompers, and was listed in the fesival
booklet just as "Christine and the Stackyard Stompers." That year she
also played with the New Dixieland Five.

A wonderful player, who deserves wider recognition.

Other female musicians in Bude in 1994 were Annie Hawkins on double
bass (she is quite well known, at least in Europe) and the pianist
Barbara Widmer, originally from Switzerland. That year she played
with the Delta Four. In 200, Ms. Widmer led her New Revival Jazz
Band. Annie Hawkins led then the New Orleans Legacy.

And we should not overlook Sarah Spencer, the hot tenor saxophone
player and singer, originally from Britain but now a resident of th
United States.

Still, Bert was right. Women consitute about half the population -
why not half of the jazz (or other) musicians?

Cheers
