Hello Harry,
You must be American!  Kenny Baker was a British trumpeter.  As to the
quality of his playing - I guess you might enquire of Warren Vache who
has shared the stage with Kenny Baker.  Baker's career commenced
sometime during the swing era, and lasted until his death in 1999 (he
might have stopped playing earlier).

Baker was first heard on record in a British public jam session in
1941 and quickly established a strong reputation in London clubs
(Wikipedia).  He played, inter alia, in the Ted Heath big band.
