Dear Bruce and Kevin,
"Take a Ferry Boat Down to New Orleans" first appeared on an Atlantic LP (SD1410) 'Jazz at Preservation Hall, Volume Three' by
Paul Barbarin And His Jazz Band, recorded in Preservation Hall, New Orleans, LA on 5th July 1962.
I do not have this record, but do have a source which credits the tune to Lester Santiago, the pianist on the session.
