These features make it an enjoyable book forbrowsing. But for this reviewer, the best part is Brodsky’s extensive accountsof his musical travels, meeting and hearing such an exciting array of jazzlegends. There are not many of us left who were able to catch the bands atNick’s, Jimmy Ryan’s, the Stuyvesant Casino, Hambone Kelly’s, Earthquake McGoon’s, the Hangover Club,  the Beverly Cavern, et al. We are fortunateto have these vivid recollections of those glory days.
