Responding to Judy Eames and others with a classic joke,
Norman writes:
One musician died and went to heaven ( a miracle in itself). His friend and
fellow-musician had a fatal malignancy but was just hanging on, and hanging
on. The musician who had "made it" asked the heavenly powers for permission
to go back to earth and persuade his friend to "let go" and come play in the
Heavenly Big Band.
Permission was granted. Angel musician was telling his earthly buddy what a
wonderful band it was--- Ellington, Basie and others on piano and each part
equally well filled.
Cancer stricken musician was having a hard time conceiving such a wonderful
personnel list for the Heavenly Big Band and said, " That's too good to be
true. Certainly there must be SOME draw-back."
Angel musician thought for a moment and replied, "Well-maybe just one.
Jesus has a girl-friend who THINKS she can sing!"
