The BBC has a big ol' musical back catalogue. And Auntie Beeb is now planning to
throw open the archive doors and release that catalogue to the world with its BBC
Vaults collection. The series will see various artists comprehensively covered with
a CD/DVD double pack. First up, Ella Fitzgerald!
Ella Fitzgerald Best Of The BBC Vaults includes more than a decade of her performances,
with complete sets from Show Of The Week (1965), Ella Sings (1965), a show at Ronnie
Scott's Jazz Club recorded in 1974, plus a concert at The Montreux Jazz Festival
in 1977.
The DVD, re-mastered with the latest multiplex audio tech, clocks in at over two
hours, with an accompanying CD offering the best tracks from all of the sets. Behold
