Alan Fredrickson, former leader of the Queen City Jazz Band,  passed on March 21, 2010, after being hospitalized for almost seven weeks.

Cause of death was complications from pneumonia.

According to Juanita Greenwood, there will be a Celebration of his life in Denver on September
30, 2010, in the evening (exact times not yet determined) at the Grand Ballroom of
the Red Lion Hotel on South Parker Road.  That's the evening before this year's Summit
Jazz which will begin at the same location.

Advice for new musicians:
1.  Never be a mug at the bar. 
2.  Don't hang around with chorus-girls as they'll spend your money quicker than you can earn it.
(And the most important of them all)
3.  Never trust a drum break!
