[Dixielandjazz] ? tough

Hi,
are things tough for bands in the US.
Speaking to the guy who runs my local jazz club today. He told me that he 
had a call from a US band leader, who has played here before. and he asked 
to be included in the 2011 programme.
We will play for whatever you can afford. was his pitch. That indicates to 
me that things are hard.
Gigs here are difficult to come by and attendances are down. My friend told 
me that he had a leader recently who insisted on reducing his bill by £80 
saying. I can see that attendances are down. Leaders  have got to keep clubs 
like you  going. You are our meat and drink.
