One of thse cds was Buck Claytonn a untypically, for him, dixieland setting. Boy can he play, listen to My Gal Sal. Your'll find on it the well known Buster Bailey (not a favourite of mine - too weedy a sound) and Herb Fleming (who goes back a bit) and Kenny Kersey.
Are you sure as to the date? In later years, Buck Clayton played with
Eddie Condon. I don't know how many recordings have been issued, but
there is a very good album recorded in Japan, with Jimmy Rushing's
singing.

By the way Eldridge could/did play Dixieland, listen to him rip through That's A Plenty (I think late 50s recording). Not for the purists but his version brings a smile. I'm sure you know this you were there in NY.
June 3, 1956. The original LP was "Swing Goes Dixie." It has been
reissued in the two CD compilation "Swing Trumpet Kings," the other
kings being Buck Clayton, Harry Edison (together) and Red Allen. Just
lovely, but probably not available anymore (issued in 1996).
