Glad you enjoyed it John. Some of the CD reissues of Diminuendo and  
Crescendo in Blue have the Gonsalves Solo as it came through the other  
microphone. It is clearer, however the crowd noise is absent and the  
listener does not get the full impact of that solo on the 7000 people  
in the audience. It was magic moment in jazz which propelled Duke  
Ellington to further fame and fortune when many thought he was washed  
up.

Audience rules and Duke and Paul had them in their pockets that night.
