The New Black Eagles used to appear on local TV. I think it has, at least
in part, to be due to the hosts' interest in different music. If the host
running the show isn't open to it, I doubt it is going to happen. Should we
ask? Definitely.

Subject: [Dixielandjazz] TV Show

Ed Wise bass, Paul Grant trumpet, Sonny Troy guitar and I are going to
tape a TV appearance for Channel 6 in Philadelphia. (ABC TV),
tomorrow. It will only be shown locally. We'll play a little jazz,
talk about the music, play a little jazz, talk about the music etc.

Came about because on of the members of the Tri State Jazz Society is
a go getter and approached Nora Muchanic who hosts the local TV show.
Got me to thinking, why can't OKOM bands do more of this? Probably
because we don't ask. <grin>

Must be lots of similar local TV shows around the country that do
human interest stories and would love to have some old guys playing
live music and talking about the beauty of OKOM.

Cheers,
