 KO Eckland's children (Dan, Nancy and Taina) are very sad to have to
give you this news, especially given the subject of your email.
Last Tuesday, May 5, 2009, Dan came to Dad's house for a regular visit
and discovered that Dad had passed away in the living room. He was 83
years old. An autopsy is pending, but a sudden massive heart attack is
suspected.

Judging from emails sent and notes made on his calendar, we believe he
passed away sometime after 6 p.m. on Monday, May 4.
At the moment we don't have plans for a memorial service. As the autopsy
has not been done yet, we haven't thought that far ahead.

We were caught completely off-guard by his passing and have spent this
last week in shock while dealing with the immediate necessities, as well
as trying to gather as many names of people as possible to notify of his
passing. There are many people whom we would have liked to notify
personally, but as Dad knew so many people, we figured it was best to
begin to get the word out via email. Please accept our apologies for the
lack of personal contact. We will be keeping this email address active
for the immediate future.
