This is an example of why many of us sit on the sidelines and lurk most of the time. My guess is that the original post was not intended to solicit a hair splitting contest!! How do you classify those bands that manage to close down several jazz venues each year because no one shows up to hear them?

I cannot count. However, a band that meets just a few times a year is
not "continuously working." I don't know how many gigs the British
and other European bands have, but they don't meet for festivals and
special occasions only, but rather work regularly. Which is neither
the case of the Bobcats nor of the Salty Dogs.
