Apart from the BBC's hysterical overkill - sad note I used to be a BBC film 
 editor at Ealing (connects with recent threads) when the values and 
integrity of  Lord Reith still held sway - I am somewhat perturbed by the 
omission, so far, of  the more disturbing aspects of the Jackson phenomena: his 
rejection of his  roots. The absurd claim that his coloration was the result of 
a skin disease,  and his nose job seems to me to be a modern equivalent of 
"conking" that was  prevalent in the 1930s.
