You better!  I heard him at a jam session in Nice in 1976.  The
jammers played what in Britain would have been describes as
"mainstream," and in the States - as "swing."  Then Mulligan joined on
a borrowed clarinet, and lo and behold - within seconds it became
Dixieland.
I'm only sorru i did not record it - I recorded most of that jam
session, but only after I found a comfortable seat (on the very
crowded floor!).
