It's a good bet that she heard the one-trumpet version of the YBJB.
However, there
were a lot of sit-ins on trumpet/cornet that year, including Don Kinch, Doc
Evans
and Danny Alguire.
Turk returned frequently. Sometimes he replaced Don Noakes and other times
they
played with two trombones.
Squire Girsback played bass alongside Lammi on tuba.
Ray Jahnigan and Jerry Stanton substituted for Wally Rose.
Gramps Edwards, Stan Ward, Harry Green and Fred Higuera substituted for Bill
Dart.
Pat Patton and Clancy Hayes played banjo--singly or as a pair--but I have
been told
that during the week, HBK operated with a quintet (Watters, Helm, Rose,
Lammi, Dart).
Other instruments were added on Friday and Saturday.
There were also Sunday-afternoon jam sessions that included Byron Berry,
Jack Minger,
Bob Mielke, Slim Evans, Jack Crook, Henry Abramson, Burt Bales, and on
occasion Scobey,
Patton, Hayes and/or Dart.
