The Capitol Hillbillies  
The Capitol Hillbillies  presents New Orleans jazz, blues, and more by a 
master session of some of the DC  area's finest musicians. Leader Joel Bailes is a 
well-known musical presence on  the Hill - rolling his piano on wheels to 
play with at the Riverby Books patio  on Sundays whenever the weather is good. 
His wife Pearl Bailes, a teacher at  Capitol Hill Day School, plays a mean 
harmonica. Capitol Hillbillies includes  piano, harmonica, horns, bass, fiddle, and 
vocals.

I was watching a show on CSPAN today featuring some "Left-Wing  Radio  
Folks" and they had a great "house band" they called the  Capital  
Hillbillies Jazz Band to play out between the station breaks  (it was  
also simulcast on various commercial radio  stations.)

The line-up of the band was piano, reeds, harmonica, guitar,  trumpet,  
t-bone, tuba and drums. I think the piano player is named  John but I  
did not hear any other names yet.

Anybody know who  they are? They did some originals and jazzed up  
versions of standard  American patriotic songs - better than just a  
pick-up band, I  think!

I did not find anything on the Internet right away.
