Not a professional video, but the music is SUPERB and testament enough
as to why live jazz is king. Note the ambience of this club. It is a
wonderful place and as close as you will ever get to the Greenwich
Village scene in the 1940s/50s.
Check out the audience also. Wow, young people dig this scene?. <grin>
Jon Erik describes it thusly:
*The Ear Inn <http://www.earinn.com/> is at 326 Spring St.*, between
Washington and Greenwich Streets, way out west near the Holland
Tunnell, New York City. It's one of the oldest bars in NYC, with a
very interesting history going back to 1817. No cover or minimum, but
please visit our friend *Phillup DeBucket* (that's a subtle way of
saying we have a tip jar). There's yummy inexpensive food served late.
Come as you are,
say hi to Victor, the coolest bartender ever, and the hip waitstaff...
it's always a fun hang.
The EAR INN features Jon and friends every Sunday evening, from 8 PM
to 11 PM or thereabouts. If you are in or near NYC when they perform
and you don't visit, you are a damn fool.
This coming Sunday Jon is joined by John Allred, trombone; Matt
Munisteri, Guitar; and Pat O'Leary on Bass. Who knows who else may
show up. (8:30 to 11:30 this Sunday)
More info? See the below blog about the joint and Jon.
