There is a great DVD out with a bunch of the old Jack Benny Lucky Strike live TV shows. In one episode, Jack has a "jam session" with several Hollywood stars including Powell, MacMurray (sax), Dan Dailey (drums), Kirk Douglas (banjo), and Tony Martin (clarinet), along with Jack on violin and a couple of the musicians from the show's orchestra, of whom the only one I remember is Charlie Bagby (piano). I don't remember who the bass player was. Unfortunately, there was no Frankie Remley on guitar.

Fonda was not a trumpter player infact but DickPowel was. Fred MacMuuray
was also a saxophoniost and part of a sax quartett that was in late
stage vaudevulle.
Lots of film notables had been musicians before becoming silver screen
actors.
The list is rather long when onedigs into it.
Don (best behavior paid off on Hagmanay - no hangover, so I guess I
didn'y have a good tijme) Ingle
