Have spent many a night there in the summer of 1964, when it was
called The Jazzshows Jazz Club. Most nights it was the Alan Elsdon
band. The place was not licensed, and during the interval everybdy
ran out to the nearest pub!
In 1976 I heard Bud Freeman there, already under the name 100 Club.
In later years I heard various good bands there, the outstanding one
being Alex Welsh's.
And there were Friday afternoon swing dances in later years.
If I'm not mistaken, it started as the Rhythm Club or something of the
sort, managed by the Feldman brothers (Victor Feldman became an
international star).
Sad news that it is going. Tempora mutandi.
