Presumably you are adding .mov or .avi files or something
similar, which computers understand, but (most) DVD players don't.

This makes what is sometimes called a data DVD.

There is a special structure to a video DVD for playing in DVD players.
So you need to use the right software. Some DVD burning
software can do it (like nero on a PC).

So iLife is software for creating a video DVD. As part of the
DVD you need to define a start menu which is presumably part
of the themes you don't like.

Is there a way to change the themes in iLife? This may be the quickest
solution. Is it the same as iDVD? there seems to be a lot about
iDVD on macs and how to change themes. For example see :-
