Eric Townley's book "Tell your story" says this:
This title probably refers to the coloured district of the town of Henserson 
on the Ohio River in Henderson County, Kentucky. It was named Red Banks 
originally, when the site was laid out in 1797, but renamed after Richard 
Henderson of the Transsylvania Land Company in 1854.
