Unjustly, Jacques, unjustly. In America, people still wail that jazz
is dead (or dying), so much so that on feels like saying "jazz is dead
and lives on in Europe (and elsewhere)." Even some of the most
polular American jazz artists are European (for example: Marian
McPartland, Derek Smith, Keirh Ingham, Tony Pringle, and even, I
believe, Carl Sony Leyland).
