"Our kind of music" implies to me an inate snobbishness and musical
bigotry..

Good grief! You must look really hard to see all that in a simple 
abbreviation.

It is `inclusive` not `exclusive`. It was invented here on the DJLM to 
describe (roughly) the sort of music we like without going into sub genre`s 
such as  `blues, New Orleans, Eat Coast, West Coast, Chicago, British, 
French, Revival etc.,
