>From the 9/18/08 Wall St. Journal article on page D8:

"Tomorrow through Sunday, an expected 45,000 spectators will gather
at a 20-acre fairground...for the Monterey Jazz Festival."

..."Several of the revered composer-performances appearances are now
documented in '50 Years of Dave Brubeck: Live at the Monterey Jazz
Festival 1958-2007,' a just released CD compilation of 10 tracks..."

"The disc is one in a continuing series of never-before-available recordings
on the recently created Monterey Jazz Festival Recordings label, whose
material is drawn from 2,000 hours of MJF music captured on audiotape..."

The article goes on to describe the problem of the degrading of the tapes
which were stored at Stanford University and the efforts to digitize the entire
archive. Also, the article covers the partnership of the MJF Records and
Concord Music Group, and Clint Eastwood's support.
