Dear Jack,
All personnel and date information from this 'commercial' period of the
original Dukes' is scant. Bill.

Bill refers to the mid '60's as the "commercial" period of the original
Dukes. I gather he's refering to the material they chose to record at that
time. However, all my So. Calif. friends fingered the Dukes as being
commercial even in the late '50's. That label never bothered me, though,
and I always enjoyed them (& still do).

I learned one of my professional "attitudes" when I saw them in a lounge in
Las Vegas in 1963. The lounge was basically empty at their 6pm show, but
they played as though the joint was hopping. This lesson has stayed with me
throughout my professional life.

Jim
