The Eldorado Syncopators have been providing quality out-of-date
music to interested listeners for over 25 years. They play a mix of late
ragtime, early jazz, popular music from the teens and twenties, skiffle
and contemporary retro.
They have played for an amazing variety of events including church
services. They were the official band for Elisha Shapiro’s National
Nihilist party during the 1980 presidential campaign, and they were
once disallowed from participating in Earth Day festivities, it being
thought that an accordion and a muted cornet would be too loud.
Their instrumentation has included washboard, accordion, saxello,
glockenspiel and kazoo, and a megaphone will sometimes be found
among their weaponry. A good time is rarely missed when listening to
their infectious blend of black beauty and white heat.
Why don’t you question their answer?
Robert Young, leader, on cornet and sax
Dave Frey on plectrum banjo
Glenn Calkins on trombone and clarinet
Jim Young on banjo
Stan Greenberg on percussion
Steven Rose on sousaphone
One month later, NVDJS will feature The Gold Coast Jazz Band in a
Holiday Party on Sunday, December 14th, 2008 from 1-5 PM at the same
location.
Spacious Dance Floor. The lodge has Food and a Full Bar.
